Use the free impartial advice provided by Timber Advisory and Display Centre
Before you talk to suppliers and installers of timber flooring, it's worthwhile to visit Timber Advisory Centre.
The Timber Advisory Centre (TAC) is a free service to the public, provided by the Timber Merchants Association and has long been recognised by the building industry and the general public as the leading exhibitor of timber and timber related products in Victoria. TAC is home to over 40 exhibits of timber and related products.
TAC has many good technical advisors who have a trade background to provide you with impartial advice on all your timber related building or renovation projects. They are able to answer your questions on topics such as:
Flooring, parquetry
Framing
Decks, carports, pergolas, fences
Moulding, cladding, linings
Species properties, engineered and treated timber
Doors, bench tops, joinery
At the TAC, you can evaluate products across the timber and timber products industry first hand and receive all the information you need before making a decision. In addition to the many exhibits of timber products, the TAC also features a Cut Away House. This full-scale model of a two-storey timber framed house shows all elements of its structure.
