32 students – 18 boys and 14 girls - who achieved perfect VCE score of 99.95 in 2010

Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) director Elaine Wenn said girls continue to outperform boys overall.

"Of the students with an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) over 90, 55.25 per cent were girls and 44.75 per cent were boys.”

“However, boys continue to outnumber girls at the highest level of 99.95 with 18 boys and 14 girls receiving the top rank.”

From this year, students will get an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) replacing the Enter score.

About 23,270 students got high study scores of 40 or more and 636 students got at least one study score of 50.

In total, 27,095 girls completed the VCE with a 97.45 per cent success rate as did 22,923 boys with a 96.49 per cent rate.

A further 9,876 students finished their Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) which leads to TAFE, an apprenticeship or into the workforce.
