In Victoria, there are four selective schools for students in Year 9 - 12: Mac.Robertson Girls' High School (taking girls), Melbourne High School (taking boys), co-educational Nossal High School and co-educational Suzanne Cory High School.The competition for a place in a selective school is very strong. There are almost 5000 applications for 2011 entry. Only 955 places are offered.

Mac.Robertson Girls' High School, Melbourne, 1277 applications, 225 places
Melbourne High School, South Yarra, 1529 applications, 330 places
Nossal High School, Berwick, 1121 applications, 200 places
Suzanne Cory High School, Werribee, 800 applications, 200 places
