feeder for the top 3 secondary state schools in melbourne ( non fee

also is there are any schools which take them before they are 5years

You asked a hard question because the government primary schools and secondary colleges are normally separate (unlike private schools). Please find the best public primary schools and secondary colleges in Melbourne from the following links:

http://bettereducation.com.au/school/secondary/vic/melbourne_top_government_secondary_schools.aspx

Anyone can answer peter's 3rd question: is there are any schools which take them before they are 5 years old just after the 30th April in Melbourne as she will be nearly 6 before she starts school.

Thanks.

In Melbourne, it's a different story. You have to live within a school zone if you want to send children to a good/best but non-selective secondary schools.

Two special situations:
~ if that good/best school is a nearest secondary school to where you live, and you can prove that, your child would have a chance to get into that secondary school even you don't live within the school zone.
~ your child is talented in some areas, school can give the child an assessment, and your child may have a chance to get in the school.

You can find school catchment area from the school website by going to the following link, and click on the school name: http://bettereducation.com.au/school/secondary/vic/melbourne_top_government_secondary_schools.aspx

Regarding your last question: if your child born after 30/04, and you want to push her/him at bit, some primary schools offer an assessment to decide whether you can send her/him a year earlier (actually only a day differences). Contact the school to arrange an assessment.

Good luck.
