THE NEW STAR ART SCHOOL

New Star Art School aims to help students to cultivate their creative power and aesthetic awareness, and build up their individual artistic talent which will provide benefit for their future development.
Founded in 1997 by Chinese-Australian artist Ms Yaping Jiang, the school has developed its own effective way of teaching based on advanced and active Western methods with the Chinese emphasis on solid basic techniques.

New Star Art School's teachers are all professionally trained and qualified with years of teaching experience in Australia. For many years the school has been successful in helping its students to achieve their potential in arts. As a direct result, many students have obtained various scholarships and won prizes in art competitions. The talents of these students later have played an important role in their success in different areas such as fine arts, interior design, industrial design, architecture, fashion design and media, etc.

New Star Art School's tutoring sessions are held weekly during the normal school term at a number of locations. It offers a wide range of classes, including: cartooning, still life drawing, portraits, painting (water colour, oil and acrylic), charcoal sketching, traditional Chinese painting, design, etc.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Ms Yaping Jiang graduated from China's Sichuan Institute of Fine Arts with a Bachelor of Arts and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Art Education from RMIT University in Melbourne.

She has taught at the Department of Fine Arts, South-Western China Teachers' University before migrating to Australia. Currently she tutors Chinese calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting at the University of Melbourne. She has had many years of experience teaching art in Australia.

Ms Jiang exhibits her own works on a constant basis and her entries have won many prizes over the years. Many of her works have been purchased for private collections. Click here to see Yaping's works ... …
