I enabled remote desktop users as instructed in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/289289. However I’m still able to access to my PC using remote desktop. The error is "The local policy of this system does not permit you to logon interactively". I think the problem may be related to the following issue:
If I click Start, click Run, type secpol.msc, and then click OK and I get the following error:
Quote:---------------------------
IP Security Policy Management
Failed to open the IPSec policy storage. The following error occurred:
The system cannot find the file specified.
(80070002) How to tackle this problem?
The local policy error is generally a permission issue. Do you have admin rights? Have you tried adding remote desktop users? If the problem persists, you need to check local policies. click Start, click Run, type secpol.msc, and then click OK. You can ignore the message “Failed to open the IPSec policy storage” and proceed. Select Local Policies>User Rights Assignment and check whether “Deny logon through Terminal Services” is set to everyone. This setting will overwrite the other permissions. So just remove the restriction and the remote desktop connection should work now.
