Qualifications


• Tertiary education acceptable to the Engineers Australia for full membership as Professional Engineer (Civil/Structural Engineering Degree)

Skills
• Must be technically competent
• Possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills
• Ability to train and mentor others

Knowledge
• Extensive experience with: Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Extensive experience with Spacegass or other analysis and design software

Experience
• 10 to 15 years of progressive engineering experience in the design of building structures and structural systems.

Job Description : Position Summary
Structural Engineering including site investigation, report preparation, structural analysis and design, preparation of contract drawings and specifications, supervision of junior engineers and CAD technicians, CAD drafting, coordination with other disciplines, construction review and contract administration.

Project Management of projects including preparation of proposals, planning, client relations, contracts and procurement, financial management and project administration.

Responsibilities / Objectives
• Manage projects and undertake technical work associated with civil engineering assets, including, investigation, feasibility studies, evaluation of options, design, preparation of contracts and specifications, and technical support through the construction phase;
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team comprising hydraulics, hydrology, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, irrigation, rehabilitation, environmental and civil engineers and scientists;
• Assist with preparation of tenders and proposals;
• Participate in workgroup initiatives including business development and technical activities;
• Support project teams in achieving stated goals
• Deliver projects and technical work successfully and be accountable for project planning and project management, as well as supplier management on projects.
• Undertake business development and gain repeat business.
• Be accountable for sales and client management.
• Coach staff and be accountable for teamwork and staff development on projects.
• Work with minimum supervision.
• Carry out designs requiring minimal changes following verification.
• Write reports that require minimum editing.
• Review and edit reports.

Reporting Relationships
• Overall report to the Engineering Manager.
