guys, I'm very happy to share my experiences on hunting a job. I have successfully got two job offers. Share with you my first question during the interview.
Tell me about yourself I have attended several job interviews recently, and all interviewers asked this question. Looks like an easy question, but I feel rather hard to answer. I believe I wasn't offered jobs for earlier interviews because I didn't answer this open question very well.
Be prepared. In last two job interviews, I treated this question seriously. I tried my hardest to connect the job I was applying for to what I have done in my previous and current jobs. Through my working experiences to demonstrate why I am well qualified for the position. Remember that the key to all successful interviewing is to match your qualifications to what the interviewer is looking for. In other words you must sell what the buyer is buying. This is the single most important strategy in job hunting.
Interview by recruiters If interviewed by a recruiter, sell your project management and technical skills. Most recruiters willing to persuade the potential employer to offer you a job if you're truly qualified. You need to tell him/her what you want in terms of money and title: nothing to hide.
Interview by potential employers If interviewed by the potential employers, before you answer this or any question it's imperative that you try to uncover your interviewer's greatest need, want, problem or goal. You need to well prepared: do all the homework you can before the interview to uncover what the company needs. Also who is going to interview you: this is really important. Doing some research, see if you can find out any background information about interviewers. If you could make him/her feel something in common with you, you have a good chance to get an offer.
As early as you can in the interview, ask for a more complete description of what the position entails. You might say: “I have a number of accomplishments I'd like to tell you about, but I want to make the best use of our time together and talk directly to your needs. To help me do, that, could you tell me more about the most important priorities of this position? All I know is what I (heard from the recruiter, read in the classified ad, etc.)â€
Then, ALWAYS follow-up with a second and possibly, third question, to draw out his needs even more. Surprisingly, it's usually this second or third question that unearths what the interviewer is most looking for.
You might ask simply, "And in addition to that?..." or, "Is there anything you see as essential to success in this position?
You will not feel easy or natural at first, because it is easier simply to answer questions, but only if you uncover the employer's wants and needs will your answers make the most sense. Practice asking these key questions before going for the interview. You will feel more natural and you will be light years ahead of the other job candidates you're competing with.
After understanding what the employer is looking for, describe how the needs of this job bear striking parallels to tasks you've succeeded at before. Give more examples of your responsibilities and especially your achievements in previous and current jobs, all of which are geared to present yourself as a perfect match for the needs the itnerviewer has just described.
Overall, just like a salesman: sell what the interviewers need.

Hi, I was attending an interview. I thought to be offered because they asked me about what salary I would consider. However I didn't get it, and dont know what's wrong.

I had similar experiences: first interview with the potential employer, and was asked the salary range. I was guard off, and talked freely. This is a trap: always guard on till you get a job offer. Remember, when were asked for salary range, don't answer immediately. If the job was via a recruiter, you can say "I would leave this matter to ??(name of recuiter)". You can find out what they think about you through job recruiter. Also you can find out what salary they would offer through the job recruiter.
