Yes, as it said, we sometimes unconsciously link our personal worth to what we get paid - that's where the emotion comes from: that exactly what I feel sometimes! It's also said: but what we get paid is simply what the market dictates and what the company can afford. Getting a handle on how to ask for a pay rise can be a really useful tool.
