Compost Australia, a division of the Waste Management Association of Australia, is seeking a highly motivated and organised person to fill the role of Market and Industry Development Officer to support its Victorian Working Group, Compost Victoria. This challenging and satisfying role will work with the Recycled Organics Industry in Victoria to develop markets for compost, assist in professional development activities, and facilitate communication and decision making within the organisation.

This position will offer you the opportunity to:
• Participate in a sector which is leading edge in contributing to healthy and sustainable soil management
• Demonstrate the climate change benefits of compost products
• Transfer research outcomes into market opportunities
• Attend and participate in field days, conferences and expos

The MIDO must demonstrate competency in:
• Development, marketing and sales of technical products
• Writing for target audiences (articles, letters, reports etc)
• Use of MS Office software
• Facilitation and public speaking

It is also desirable that the MIDO demonstrate competency in:
• Application of product standards and quality management systems
• Public relations and media management

While not essential, candidates who can demonstrate familiarity with the production, benefits and use of RO products and the key markets for RO products will be looked upon favourably.

The MIDO must hold a current Australian drivers license.
